How to Make USB Pendrive is Bootable in Command Prompt
Using a pendrive in a place of windows disc is
a wonderful idea to choose and if you don’t have any USB Bootable Maker
Software in your computer or maybe if you don’t want to use any of
these software’s then there’s an another great way to create a bootable
pendrive by just using your windows cmd comment prompt and also your windows
setup files.
Tip: Before you start, plug in the USB drive
and backup any files you have stored on the USB drive. The drive will be
formatted during this process and all files on it will be deleted.
Making USB bootable by cmd command prompt
doesn’t require any software to use but you’ll defiantly need your windows
setup files in order to make those files bootable in your pendrive. So, make
sure your computer is working on windows operating system to use this cmd
prompt for boot conversion and you’ll also have to make sure about you having
all windows setup files in your computer for file transformation on pendrive.
Creating a usb pendrive using command prompt is
not hard, it is one of the most common ways to create a bootable usb.
Having
a bootable USB is very essential, especially if you are a Netbook user. Using a
bootable USB to install an operating system (OS) not only makes the
installation faster, but also saves a DVD!
Creating or using a USB
drive to install Windows operating systems is very easy if you follow the
below mentioned steps.
Step-1 :
- (i) Open Command Prompt Window (Windows 7 )
as Administator
Step-1 :
- (i) Open Command Prompt Window (Windows 8 )
as Administator
Step-2 :
- (i) Command Prompt Window as Administator
Step-3 :
- (i) Type Command "diskpart"
Step-4 :
- (i) Type Command "list disk"
Step-5 :
- (i) After Type "list disk" you see
Disk you type "select disk 1" as a Command
Step-6 :
- (i) Now Disk 1 is the Selected Disk,
- (ii) Affet type "clean" command in prompt
window
Step-7 :
- (i) Diskpart Succeeded
in Cleaning the disk,
- (ii) now type command "create partition
primary" in prompt window
- (iii) after type as a command "select partition
1" in prompt window
- (iv) now Partition 1 is now the selected partition
- (v) after, type command "format=fs ntfs quick" in command prompt
Step-8 :
- (i) Diskpart successfully formatted the volume
- (ii) now, type command "active" in command prompt
Step-9 :
- (i) now, Diskpart marked the current partition as
active
- (ii) after, type command "exit" in command prompt , after you Leaving Diskpart
Now your
USB Pen Drive is successfully Bootable
You
are done with your bootable USB. You can now use this bootable USB as bootable
DVD on any computer that comes with USB boot feature (most of the current
motherboards support this feature).
Note:-
that this bootable USB guide doesn’t not work if you are trying to make a
bootable USB on XP computer.

command is “diskpart” and it can be used for a number of disk operations as
well as for creating a bootable flash drive. It is actually a suite of commands
in a separate shell that is described at
this link. (The command is also present in Windows XP but can't be
used on flash drives in that operating system.)
